The partnership is with the company
ValTransfer does not recruit individual drivers. The contract binds ValTransfer to a transport company: a sole proprietorship or corporation entered in the commercial register and holding a UID number. The company engages its drivers, registers its vehicles and answers for their compliance.

What is checked for each driver
These determine whether a driver is eligible for ValTransfer rides. They are declared and evidenced by the company.
- Identity and date of birth
- Category B driving licence, and how long it has been held
- Professional passenger transport licence (category B121) and its validity
- Cantonal passenger transport authorisation, its canton and expiry date
- Criminal record extract, and the date it was checked
- Debt collection register extract, and the date it was checked
- Professional liability insurance
- Vehicle: make, model, year, plate, and tachograph where applicable
Drivers remain engaged by their company. ValTransfer sets neither their hours, nor their leave, nor their pay, and does not employ them. Social security obligations lie with the company.
How the driver is paid
The passenger pays the company. ValTransfer takes a 20% commission on the ride amount, directly within the transaction. The remainder goes to the company, which pays its driver under its own arrangement.
A commission reduction programme exists for drivers whose rating and ride volume exceed certain thresholds over a quarter.
Becoming a driver
You sign up from your phone in a few minutes: choose the transport company you work with, photograph your five documents — licence with the B121 mention, cantonal authorisation, criminal record extract, debt collection extract, professional liability insurance — and send. The company checks your file; once it approves, you receive your access to the app by email. (The form is in French.)
